2013 Molokai Surf Ski World Championships Awards Ceremony & Lu’au

Waikiki Beach is the stunning backdrop for the 2013 Molokai Surf Ski World Championships Awards Ceremony & Lu’au.  Located on the beach at the Outrigger Canoe Club, this event will be reminiscent of old Hawai’i Nei. You will be captured by the picturesque display of swaying palm trees and silhouettes of paddlers in the Pacific Ocean. Outrigger Canoe Club is a true historic staple of Oahu and is the ideal setting for this ceremony as their mission is to foster and promote the water sports of old Hawai’i. The nights’ show will also act as a preview to the new "The Beach Luau at Barefoot Beach Café" launching this summer…and you get a sneak peek!

The progression of Hawaiian music, originating with Kahiko, transforming to Hapa Haole and evolving to modern day Island Contemporary will proudly be showcased by the accomplished David Asing. Born into a family of talented musicians, David will serve as the Lu’au host and entertainment while race director, Shelley Oates-Wilding, will be the Awards Ceremony emcee for this one of a kind event.

The menu for the evening will include island favorites such as, Sauteed Mahi Mahi, Kalua Pork & Cabbage, Coconut Shrimp, Tofu Watercress Salad, Waimanalo Mixed Greens, Local Potato Salad and Grilled Vegetables to name a few.

Guest arrivals begin at 6pm on the Hau Terrace, accompanied by live music.  Dinner buffet will begin at 6:30pm with the traditional blowing of the conch shell.
