      LOCAL FINALISTS’ ARTWORK OF TOYOTA’S 2013 DREAM CAR ART CONTEST AT HONOLULU MUSEUM OF ART SCHOOL

      Public invited to view artwork on display from May 5 – 27

      WHAT: The original artwork of 20 local finalists of Toyota’s 2013 Dream Car Art Contest will be exhibited at the Honolulu Museum of Art School for the public to view. Keiki under 16 years old interested in entering in next year’s art contest are especially encouraged to check out the exhibit for inspiration.

      WHEN: May 5 to 27; 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

      WHERE: First floor hallways of the Honolulu Museum of Art School1111 Victoria St. Honolulu 96814

      DETAILS: The local finalists were recognized at awards presentations at Servco Auto Honolulu and Maui Toyota in Kahului last month. Among the 600 entries received (double the amount of entries from last year’s contest), only nine were selected to participate in the World Contest where winners will be awarded an all-expenses-paid trip to Japan for the final awards ceremony in August 2013. All entries listed will be included in the exhibit.

      Under 10 years old category:

      FINALIST: Kaycee Hansberry, age 7, Salt Lake Elementary School
      FINALIST: Sheena Rae Reyes, age 9, Makalapa Elementary School

      Ages 10-12 category:
      WINNER: Faith Chang, age 11, Stevenson Middle School
      FINALIST: Kayla Mae Cuizon, age 12, Ilima Intermediate School
      FINALIST: Kevin Koa Markell, age 12, Kamehameha School – Kapalama Campus

      Ages 13-15 category:
      WINNER: Bridget O'Connor, age 13, Mid-Pacific Institute
      FINALIST: Christian Gutierrez, age 15, Punahou School
      FINALIST: Oriana Buika, age 14, H.P. Baldwin High School People’s Choice Winners: ·
