      Mika Ninagawa Paradise Photo Exhibit at DFS Galleria Waikiki

      World renowned Japanese photographer, Mika Ninagawa, has produced a series of photographs with the theme of "Paradise” specifically for exhibit at DFS Galleria Waikiki.

      The concept for the exhibit started with a Facebook campaign. DFS posted her photographs representing a “Paradise” theme on the Japan DFS site and asked its followers to vote on the images that best portrayed that theme. Ninagawa has an active social media presence with more than 200,000 Twitter followers. The exhibit is open and free to the general public.

      About Mika Ninagawa

      Mika Ninagawa is Japan's most popular celebrity photographer. Known for her vibrant and brightly colored photographs of flower, goldfish and landscapes, she has enjoyed significant commercial success in fashion and advertising. She has published best selling photographic books every year for the past seven years. Among others, Ninagawa has worked with Vogue Taiwan, Vogue Japan, Céline and Alicia Keys.

      Ms. Ninagawa has been accredited with some prestigious photography awards including the most authoritative photography award in Japan “Kimura Ihei Photography Award.” Her solo exhibition, “Mika Ninagawa: Earthly Flowers, Heavenly Colors,” was one of the most talked-about topics since the exhibition recorded the highest turnout in the photography exhibition history in Japan. Her aesthetic and work extended beyond the photography itself, she went on to fashion collaboration projects with Celine and Mastermind among others. In 2007, she directed her first film “SAKURAN” to start off her career as a film director. Her second film “Helter Skelter” recorded more than 2.1 billion Japanese yen at the box office.
